Windows Server - MS Fax routing failure
Asked By Roger

Hi
we have the fax service set up on our 2008 server which routes faxes via
email on our exchange server. It has started to become unreliable with faxes
often failing to be delivered. A quick web search seems to point to a known
bug and a knowledge base article no 973640 but when I download the hotfix
for this it says it isnt suitable for our server (64 bit win 2008). Does
anyone know of a hotfix location suitable for the 64 bit server version. The
knowledge base article seems to infer the bug is present in all versions.
Thanks
Roger.

Thanks Andrew
this came up with the same hotfix as I had tried on the server but with the
64 bit one on my laptop - I realised if you use firefox (which I use on the
server) you only get offered the 32 bit hotfixes. As soon as I tried the
same link with IE it came up with the 64 bit one and I was able to install
it.
I wouldnt have realised this if I hadnt clicked on your link on my laptop
first so thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Windows Defender & Security Essentials Issue Windows Server Hello, I have Vista Ultimate and I used to have Windows Defender running until I recently installed Security Essentials; I noticed that Windows Defender was no longer running. Several times I reactivated it, but for some reason it keeps turning off. Question1: Does Security Essentials disable / turn off Windows Defender? Question2: If "No" to question1, could you please tell how to keep Windows Defender enabled / running, or is it not necessary to have both Security Essentials and Windows Defender running at the same time. I have searched Microsoft's websites endlessly to get
