Hello,
I cant seem to connect two computers to my work network using only one VPN
connection. The scenario is as follows
Computer a and b: both windows xp
Computer c: windows server 2003 pptp (VPN server)
I can connect to computer c (server) using wither a or b. Not both.
Is there a way i can give both a and b access to the network using the one
VPN connection?
thanks Bill.

i dont know what you mean by giving both pc's a and b access to the VPN
connection, if you are using this as a terminal service client you will
need to pay money to allow both to connect concurrently, in a remote
desktop environment, I think this is what you are talking about?

As a general rule, the answer is no. You cannot normally share a VPN
connection.
Phillip Windell replied to bill
You need a site-to-site (router-to-router) VPN,...not a Remote Access VPN.
With remote Access VPN, every machine needs to connect with VPN by
establishing it is own connection separately.

Are you trying to use one PC as the primary connection upstream / elsewhere
.. internet connection sharing eables one PC to be a proxy for others but
your subjected to whatever policies your corporate IT allow.

Problems accessing DMZ (different subnet) addresses w / PPTP VPN Windows Server I'm having problems accessing DMZ addresses when I'm connected to our Windows PPTP VPN. Machines on the LAN can be accessed w / o any problems and I also have connectivity. I assume that it might be a routing issue. Here's the current setup: - VPN Server has 2 NICs (LAN 10.0.3. . / DMZ 192.168.4. . ) - Clients connect to a publlic address which resolves to the DMZ address for the VPN Server. - VPN clients gets assigned an IP address from a DHCP server on our LAN

Server can't manage a remote computer over PPTP VPN. Windows Server We are attempting to remotely administer an XP workstation over a PPTP VPN. When the machine is connected to the VPN, we are not able to ping it or update Group Policy on it. The remote all server IP's. We have a SBS 2003 R2 for a DC and the VPN is on a 2003 Enterprise Server (member server) in the same domain. We also could we temporarily set up RRAS on the SBS server and connected the XP machine via PPTP to this DC. Thanks, K. Jacob, MCSE Windows Server Active Directory Discussions XP (1) VPN
DNS and NetBIOS names not resolving over a PPTP VPN using RRAS Windows Server Short question: How does one enable the resolution of DNS and NetBIOS names on a remote network from a client over a PPTP VPN? Backstory: I have a PPTP VPN facilitated by a Windows Server 2003 machine with RRAS. VPN traffic is forwarded through a firewall to the RRAS
