Group Plicy domain member: Maximum machine account age

Asked By ginger

What does this defination mean?
If the policy set:domain member: Maximum machine account age :30 days, does
it mean the workstations and servers in a domain will drop off domain and it
needs to re-join the domain again every 30days?

How does it work for this policy enabled?

Hello ginger,

No, that does not mean it. It is just as said the machine password have also
to renew and the default time is fine. No need to change it. It is used to
establish a secure channel to the DC where the password is used for.

Best regards

This is a default to reset the password autometically to establish a secure
