SBS2008 and EBS2008 support Via Microsoft NNTP Public News Groups
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Web Based Access:
Web Access to Newsgroup SBS2008
https://connect.microsoft.com/sbs08/community/discussion/richui/default.aspx
Web Access to Newsgroup EBS2008
https://connect.microsoft.com/ebs08/community/discussion/richui/default.aspx
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NNTP Access to SBS2008 and EBS2008 Newsgroups:
To gain access groups via NNTP (Which is preferred by a lot of people)
First you need to set up an access password as detailed Here:
https://connect.microsoft.com/cougar/messageboards/community.aspx
If this is the first time you set this up it may take up to 6 hours for
Microsoft to set your password.
After 6hrs you can configure your NNTP Reader
(Doing this before 4 or 6 hrs will result in no connection.)
To access the Microsoft Connect newsgroups, if you wish to use a newsreader
program, such as Outlook Express and Windows Mail that supports multiple
news
servers. (The instructions are below)
------------------------------------------------------------
To add a news server to Outlook Express:
Start Outlook Express.
On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
Click Add, and then click News.
In the Internet Connection Wizard, follow the instructions until you reach
the Internet News Server Name page.
Enter "connectnews.microsoft.com" for the News (NNTP) server, select "My
news server requires me to log on," and then click Next.
Enter your newsgroup ID and password, and then click Next.
Click Finish, and then click Close.
----------------------------------------------------------------
To add a news server to Windows Mail:
Start Windows Mail.
On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
Click Add and then click Newsgroup Account.
------------------------------------------
Once you are configured this direct links will hook you up.
(or you can manually search and add the newsgroups.)

You probably can't see replies today as the web interface is out of wack.
When you can, look over the following and consider using a nntp news reader
such as Outlook Express or Windows Mail instead of the web interface.

The NNTP / News Server is connectnews.microsoft.com (betanews.microsoft.com
will work as well)
If you have not setup a NNTP Newsgroup Account on MS Connect before do the
following 2 things;
Go to the following URL to setup your credentials; Set Newsgroup Password
Go to the following URL for instructions on how to setup your reader;
Configure NNTP Reader
Thanks for using our new Public Newsgroups hosted on MS Connect. We hope the
registration process is acceptable. We chose to go with this new NNTP Server
to help address issues with not having authentication on
MSNews.Microsoft.com.
