I have installed Terminal Service and Terminal Service Licensing in our
Windows 2000 server but I get an error "This computer cannot connect to the
remote computer. Try connect again. If the problem continues, contact the
owner of the remote conputer or your network administrator." when I try to
connect to it by using Remote Desktop Connection from my Windows XP Pro.

I can connect to our Windows server 2003/2008 and another 2000 without any
problem. What is the possible problem?

You need to post much more information, e.g.
- Are both machines on an internal network?
- Are firewalls involved?
- Which port number do you use for your terminal sessions?
- Can you ping the Win2000 server?
- Can you telnet from the Win2000 server to itself on that port?
- Can you telnet from the WinXP machine to the Win2000 server on that port?

Starting Win2000 from the C: Prompt Windows Server Starting Win2000 from the C: Prompt Windows98 can be started from the C: Prompt by typing "win". I have Win98se and Win2000 dual booting. I can select at bootup either the C: prompt (Dos), or Windows 2000. To load Win98 I just type "win". Yet to start Win2000, I always have to reboot. Is there any way to start Win2000 from the C: prompt? (There is no win.com file). Windows 2000 Discussions Windows Server (1) Vista (1) Routine (1) Disk (1) Kill (1) Bit (1

Overriding default SBS 2008 policies Windows Server We have an SBS 2008 located at one site of a multi-site network site VPN tunnels. I added a group policy that explicitly allowed Remote Desktop through the Windows firewall for the three subnets involved. However, the SBS 2008 canned Windows XP Policy lists me from making RDP connections across the VPN. I edited the canned policy time a wizard is run? Could I get the desired effect in some better way?
