lan traffic over ISA 2004

Asked By chriske911

I have a ISA 2004 server configured as proxy

when I look at the traffic reports I see traffic coming from and to a
branch office
specifically these are local IP security webcams that need to be
monitored from within the branch office

why is this traffic coming to the ISA server only to go back to the LAN
in the branch office?

I have set IE to bypass proxy for intranet adresses and specified
domain names
the webcams have a host entry set in DNS cause ISA would not allow
proxy clients to get to these webcams by IP address
and it is easier to remember or add as a favorite this way offcourse
;-)

what else can I do so the traffic from the branch office stays in the
branch office instead of using the leased line (twice: back and forth)
between the offices?

I am worried the traffic will fill up the leased line as more people
will want to look at the webcams

thnx

There could be a million reasons,...all of them due to a bad networkdesign,...

There could be a million reasons,...all of them due to a bad network
design,...none of them a flaw in the ISA.

But I have no idea how your LAN is designed,...so no way to possibly make a
call on that.
